Root Cause

The plastic spring retainers on the internal dampener break apart. The plastic fragments block the internal oil filter, destroying oil pressure to the mechatronic unit.

Requires full gearbox rebuild and replacement of the dampener assembly with upgraded metal spring retainers. Fluid MUST be changed every 37,500 miles. Cost: £1,800-£2,500
